Bedsure Memory Foam Orthopedic Crate Pad Review

The Brindle 4 Inch Solid Memory Foam bed we reviewed here is now hard to find, so this page covers a flat memory foam bed that fills the same role: the Bedsure Memory Foam Orthopedic Crate Pad. Like the Brindle, it is a simple rectangular pad of solid foam that works on the floor or inside a crate.

Specs

The pad is made of two layers of high-density memory foam. A softer memory foam layer on top gives comfort, and a firmer layer underneath keeps the dog from sinking through to the floor. Together they spread the dog’s weight evenly and take pressure off the joints.

The foam is CertiPUR-US certified, and the cover is a plush flannel. A non-skid bottom keeps the pad from sliding on hard floors, which matters for older dogs that are unsteady getting up. The listing notes that it is not meant for dogs that chew their beds.

Use and Care Instructions

The cover unzips and comes off for cleaning. It can be machine washed and tumble dried. There is no waterproof liner, so for a puppy or a dog with accidents, add a waterproof cover or liner underneath.

Because the pad is thin and light, it is easy to move from a crate to the car to a hotel room.

Sizing

Bedsure lists four sizes:

• Small: 24” x 16” x 3”, for dogs up to 20 lbs such as Pomeranians and Miniature Schnauzers
• Medium: 29” x 18” x 3”, for dogs 20 to 30 lbs such as Beagles and French Bulldogs
• Large: 35” x 22” x 3”, for dogs 30 to 50 lbs such as Border Collies and Corgis
• Extra Large: 41” x 29” x 3.5”, for dogs 50 to 90 lbs such as Labradors and Pit Bulls

For crate use, match the pad to the inside floor of the crate. For the floor, measure your dog standing from paw to shoulder and add 4 to 6 inches.
