The American Kennel Club Orthopedic Circle Stitch Cuddler Pet Bed is a rectangular bed with three bolstered sides. This bed uses ultra plush stuffing to create a comfortable sleeping space, and the canvas and Sherpa cover adds extra softness. The bolsters are great for curling up and providing extra support. This bed is ideal for smaller to medium sized dogs.
Specs
The core of this bed is ultra plush stuffing, which is advertised to be orthopedic. Most users reported that this is not a memory foam bed. There may be some solid foam but it feels more like egg crate and is thinner than other foam cores. While dogs enjoy it, owners noticed that the filling is a bit on the thin side and isn’t as supportive as other beds.
The cover has a canvas exterior and a Sherpa interior. These materials make the bed durable while remaining soft and comfortable. The bed comes in three colors: gray, taupe, or burgundy, all of which have tan interiors. This cover also features a non-skid bottom, which is good for use on flooring like wood and tile, as well as for dogs with mobility issues.
Some users reported that their cover had a zipper, but many beds did not, which made machine-washing almost impossible. Another user chose this bed for a puppy, and the puppy chewed through the cover in about five minutes. While this would happen with other covered beds, it makes this particular model less ideal for use with puppies and younger dogs.
Use and Care Instructions
The bed is machine washable and dryable. Machine wash on cold and tumble dry low. Most of the covers were reported to not have zippers, meaning the bed is all one piece. This can make washing difficult. Also, the stuffing was said to move around which can make the bed lumpy and misshapen after a full wash and dry.
Sizing
The dimensions of this bed are: 25” x 21” x 8”. The sleeping area is smaller than the given dimensions due to the bolstered sides. This bed is a good size for small to medium dogs, about 1-30lbs. Given its size a Golden Retriever would not be happy in this bed, but many small dogs found it very satisfying. As mentioned previously it’s not a good choice for puppies or dogs that like to chew, and some breeds may flatten the bed more quickly depending on their weight and how often they use the bed.
