The Petco Orthopedic Peaceful Nester we reviewed here was sold only through Petco and is no longer offered, so this page now covers a nester-style bed you can buy on Amazon: the Bedsure Orthopedic Dog Bed in the medium 28” size. Like the Peaceful Nester, it puts an orthopedic foam base inside bolstered sides for dogs that like to snuggle in.

Specs

The base is high-density egg-crate foam, which spreads weight evenly and takes pressure off sore joints. The Peaceful Nester also used egg-crate foam, so the feel underneath will be familiar.

Bolsters run along all four sides and are filled deep to support the head and neck. The front is lowered to make an entrance that is easy on the knees. The cover is a soft flannel, and a non-skid bottom keeps the bed from sliding on hardwood and tile.

The foam is CertiPUR-US certified, and the bed carries OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification.

Use and Care Instructions

The cover has a laminated waterproof layer to protect against spills and accidents. It unzips and comes off for machine washing.

Sizing

The medium size measures 28” x 23” x 6.5” and suits small and medium dogs, puppies and cats. Bedsure sells the same bed in 35”, 38”, 42” and 52” sizes for larger breeds or for two dogs that sleep together.

Measure your dog standing, from the bottom of the paw to the top of the shoulder, and add 4 to 6 inches. For a dog that curls up, the medium is enough; a dog that stretches out needs the next size.
