The Canine Creations Orthopedic Pebble Embossed Mink Rectangle Bolster Pet Bed is a couch or lounger style bed that provides comfort and support with orthopedic foam and a mink cover. This bed is ideal for older dogs with mobility or joint issues, and is supportive in a curled up sleeping positions as well as lying flat.
Specs
The cushion in this bed is high-density heat retaining orthopedic foam comprised of 50% polyurethane foam and 50% polyester fiber. This foam is spun from recycled plastic bottles and is supportive for all dogs, especially those with weak muscles or joints. The foam core is one solid piece and can be removed to launder the cover.
The cover is super-soft brushed mink fabric. This woven material resists tears and holds up well with daily use. The cover seams are lock stitched to add more durability. There is a zipper along the bottom edge to allow the foam cushion to be removed in order to wash the cover. The cover is two toned and available in three colors: bark, dark gray, and mineral. Price varies depending on the color.
The bolsters are part of the cover and are poly-filled. Bolsters give the bed more of a couch style and are great for added support, especially with dogs that like to curl up. The bolsters are not removable and are sewn into the cover.
Use and Care Instructions
The cover is machine wash and dry. A zipper is in the bottom of the cover to remove the foam cushion. The foam core is spot clean only. Users had no issues with washing or drying this cover and found the zipper design easy to use for removal and installation. The cover is not waterproof and many users covered the bed with a blanket to reduce washing the cover frequently.
Sizing
The bed’s dimensions are 36” x 27” x 8” and is suitable for small to medium sized dogs. Some users found the bed too small for their dog, and most recommend the bed for dogs up to 40lbs. The sleeping area between the bolsters is 27” x 20.5” which is plenty of room for many medium breeds. The bed’s design is low profile, which makes it easier to get in and out of for shorter dogs and those with back issues. Many dogs were very happy with this bed, but some larger breeds found it too small to lie in comfortably.
